Certified Casting Instructor
My fly fishing journey began when I was 8 years old. I lived on a large cattle ranch in south-central Montana, and when I wasn't busy with various ranch chores, I would grab a fly rod and head out to a small stream. I spent much of my teenage years and early 20's fishing the high alpine lakes and small streams in the Beartooth Mountains

As a ski instructor for over 25 years, I am no stranger to teaching technical skills; and I have taught hundreds of people of all ages to ski. As a fly-casting instructor, I have provided casting instruction to over 1,100 students ranging in age from 8 to 80+ years old. My fly-casting instruction has included over 275 women and 140 kids. The experience level of my students ranges widely, as well, from first-time beginners to students with over 40 years of fly fishing experience. All of my instruction is aimed at helping my students become more successul, productive anglers.
I spent 4 1/2 years working for Orvis as one of their instructors for their fly fishing and fly tying classes as well as providing private casting lessons purchased through their Park Meadows store. I currently lead the group instruction program for Ascent Fly Fishing in Littleton, CO.
My fly-casting instruction also involves various volunteer activities with groups such as Project Healing Waters where I am one of the lead casting instructors, Trout Unlimited, High Plains Drifters, and Colorado Women Fly Fishers. I also provide volunteer casting tips at the Fly Fishing Show held annually in Denver, CO.
My wife, Julie, and I live in Parker, CO. We have 6 kids and 2 grandkids.
